Many religions require their followers to have a certain dress code. For example, Muslim girls must wear a Hijab or head scarf. Also some Jews have to wear yarmulkes on their heads (Endersby, School Uniforms JUNIOR, Par.6). Also this impedes upon the First Amendment. “Sarika Singh, 14, refused to take off her iron bangle worn by devout Sikhs as a reminder not to sin. The Aberdare Girls’ school in south Wales excluded her for failing to accept its uniform guidelines and the rules of its governing body."(Rumbold, "Religion and school uniforms, round 94"). School uniforms may require students to not to wear anything on their head which would go against both of the, spoken of, religion. For many people religion is their number one priority and they may be offended if the school that they are attending does not let them follow the religion they choose to the utmost capacity. Also some religions require that you must cover your entire body. School uniforms can dictate what size and length the uniforms are and can contradict religious beliefs. That is why school uniforms go against religous beliefs (Endersby, School Uniforms JUNIOR, Par. 6).
